Lower Schuylkill River District Master Plan Green Stormwater Infrastructure

Lower Schuylkill River District Master Plan

As a key member of the master planning team, Ground Reconsidered was charged with developing a multi-functional green stormwater infrastructure plan for the Lower Schuylkill River District 3,700 acre study area. The plan for sustainable redevelopment of this historically significant industrial corridor, along both banks of the Schuylkill River, meets Philadelphia Water Department requirements for new development while providing necessary outdoor amenities for new businesses and adjacent communities. As envisioned, the District will include trail connections to and from neighborhoods adjacent to daylighted creeks, bioswales along existing and proposed roadways as well as wetland creation and mitigation along the river’s banks.
